Adult Programs
Basics Program
Ideal for beginners up to their 1st stripe (6 months) but open to all belts, our Basics program forms the foundation of our academy. It systematically introduces core positions, techniques, and fundamental Jiu-Jitsu concepts. This class focuses on training in the Gi, using the traditional uniform to gain better control through grips on the pants, sleeves, and collars, enabling dominant positions and high-percentage chokes with either your Gi or your partner's Gi.
Gi Fundamentals
The Fundamentals program caters to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced, ranging from 1st stripe (6 months) to black belt. Building on the Basics program, it offers a deep dive into specific positions, techniques, and concepts. Including specific training and sparring, this class helps students fine-tune their techniques and work on problem-solving and strategy. This is a Gi class, using the traditional uniform to gain better control through grips on the pants, sleeves, and collars, enabling dominant positions and high-percentage chokes with either your Gi or your partner's Gi.
Gi Stand-Up Class
The Gi Stand-Up class is designed to bridge the gap between starting a Jiu-Jitsu round on the feet and getting your opponent down to the ground in a dominant position. This class focuses on establishing strong grips, stance, and balance, generating motion, and developing the core skills needed for effective stand-up. It also covers the different positions and entries unique to Jiu-Jitsu, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of stand-up techniques in the context of Jiu-Jitsu.
No Gi Fundamentals
The No Gi Fundamentals program is ideal for students from beginners to advanced levels. This class focuses on training without the Gi, using a rashguard and shorts. No Gi is faster-paced and more explosive. Instead of gripping an opponent’s Gi, practitioners rely on strong wrist grips, neck ties, arm drags, overhooks, and underhooks to maintain control. Students will be introduced to the fundamental differences between Gi and No Gi, helping them understand and excel in both styles.
No Gi Wrestling Class
The No Gi Wrestling class is perfect for BJJ practitioners who want to improve their stand-up game. This class focuses on developing takedowns, control techniques like pins, holds, and escapes, and improving physical conditioning, strength, explosive power, speed, and agility. By integrating wrestling into your training, you’ll gain valuable skills to secure points and achieve dominant positions in No Gi Jiu-Jitsu. Ideal for all levels, this class will help you become a more well-rounded grappler.
Open Mats
Open mat training differs from structured classes by offering an unstructured environment with plenty of sparring time. Running for 1 to 1.5 hours, these sessions allow for 12-15 rounds of sparring with brief rest periods in between. Open Mats are ideal for practitioners with at least 1st stripe or 6 months of training. These sessions are perfect for exploring your game style, fine-tuning techniques, pressure testing moves, and developing game plans. With more time for questions, coaches or higher-ranked students can offer deeper insights. The variety of training partners helps students improve strategy, positional awareness, and adapt techniques to different styles
Women's Only Fundamentals
The Women's Only Fundamentals class follows the same style and structure as our regular Fundamentals program but is exclusively for women. It’s a great way to start Jiu-Jitsu if you feel a bit overwhelmed or unsure. In this class, you’ll find a supportive environment where you can learn and drill techniques with partners of similar body shapes and sizes. It creates a comfortable and encouraging space for women to develop their skills and confidence in Jiu-Jitsu. A class for women, run by women.
