Personal Training Studio FAQ

 
  • We are a non-membership-based training facility. Clients pay their trainer directly for their training session with no additional fee to use the facility.

  • No, our facility is only for open to clients who are actively training with their trainer.

    • Mon-Fri: 6am – 1pm / 3pm-7pm

    • Sat: Closed

    • Sun: Closed

    • Public Holidays: Closed

  • Yes, we are a registered COVID-19 safe facility. Our safety plan will keep you and our staff safe and stop the spread. As a condition of entry to our facility, you must follow all rules and regulations. If you are unwell, please do not come to the studio and stay home.

Jiujitsu (BJJ) FAQ

 
  • Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a safe and practical martial art. Though mistakes can happen, the fact that it revolves around ground-based wrestling reduces the risk of many injuries. There's no slamming and zero striking.

    BJJ is one of the fastest-growing martial arts on the planet, but the success of your jiujitsu journey will rely heavily on the culture of the academy, the instructional methods utilised by your teachers and the quality of your training partners.

    We pride ourselves on creating a safe, supportive and family-friendly environment. We do not tolerate any dangerous or aggressive behaviour.

  • No. We all start somewhere.

    To support you in mastering the art of jiujitsu, we articulate techniques and break down the steps in an easy way. We pay attention to the smallest of details to ensure you execute the foundational techniques properly. Classes are structured to accommodate your learning pace, and our coaches and more experienced BJJ practitioners will assist you along the way.

  • The short answer is: "No! There is no right age to start jiujitsu. When you decide to start is the right time.

    The beauty of the art jiujitsu is that it can be taught at any age and within your unique abilities.

  • There is a common misconception that BJJ is only for those already at a certain fitness level. On the contrary, BJJ is for everyone, no matter what type of body composition or fitness level. Starting jiujitsu will help you become fitter.

  • Yes. Our Women Only classes are designed to challenge you both physically and mentally as you learn a new skillset in our safe and non-judgemental environment. Our classes show you the true capabilities of your body as you develop confidence and learn how to defend yourself. You'll love training with like-minded women who will encourage and push you to become your best.

  • The earlier, the better, just like any other sport. At about five years old, kids are mature enough to understand jiujitsu's most basic concepts and execute them. Our kid's classes start at age 5-7 years.

  • Once people sign up for BJJ, they often fall into one of two categories. Some become addicted to BJJ and want to train every day, while others stress because they think they can't come to class enough times per week.

    Many factors go into the ideal training frequency, and almost all of them relate to you personally. We recommend you start with a minimum of two sessions per week and build from there.

    Jiu-Jitsu, like all martial arts, is a marathon, not a sprint.
